Data infrastructure for multi-site research

One platform for the full life of your research data

Lasso builds and runs the data infrastructure behind some of the largest studies in North America.
Collect, validate, govern, analyze and share, from first capture to data sharing.

The lifecycle

The full life of your data, in one continuous flow.

Unlike platforms that are bolted together from tools that were never built to work as one, Lasso is purpose-built from the ground up so the whole lifecycle runs as a single governed flow, from first capture to data sharing.

Collect

Data arrives clean

Sites, labs and connected systems send data in. Lasso validates it the moment it arrives and your team watches study progress in real time.

Real-time intake
Validate

Quality, checked at every step

Our five-stage QC keeps checking data at every stage, so problems surface early instead of after analysis. Backed by real multi-site history.

Lasso five-stage QC
Govern

Oversight that fits your study

Approval workflows, agreements and audit trails match your model, from a single administrator to a full data use committee, applied across every dataset.

Audit-ready
TRust Center
Analyze

Work where the data lives

Researchers analyze inside LassoSAFE instead of downloading data, on standard tools that meet the security standards funders and regulators require.

Share

Release, ready to use

Publish analysis-ready datasets through DataShare, with the permissions and documentation that keep released data usable and compliant.

Products and services

One team behind them all.

Why Lasso

When the study is large and the data is irreplaceable, platform reliability and security is imperative.

A compliance record that clears procurement and regulatory review the first time.

Data that survives an audit. Versioned, traceable and releasable to the standards your funders and regulators require.

People who have run large multi-site studies for years and have seen your problem before.

A partner still standing years into a decade-long study, not a vendor that disappears mid-project.

Named accountability. Real people answer when something breaks, not a ticket lost in a queue.

A white-glove setup tailored to how your study actually runs, not a template you are forced to fit.

What our collaborators are saying.

Lasso has it down to a science

Lasso has been instrumental in getting our complicated, multi-site study off the ground. Their team understands science, biology and study procedure. We appreciate how the team quickly grasped our goals and proposed solutions. They have that down to a science. Lasso’s platform and service brings data management up to the high standard necessary for a large-scale, multi-site study.

Technical and scientific know-how

Lasso has been critical for the success of HBCD. The web-based interface enables individual sites to easily and carefully register, track, and ship samples. I can log in and see what samples have been collected at each site, independently and collectively, in real time.

Our collaborative back-and-forth relationship combined with Lasso’s technical know-how, scientific familiarity, and clear and direct communication has allowed the HBCD study to flourish.

Crucial for optimization

I have been very impressed with how quickly and responsive Lasso’s team is to feedback. Lasso’s platform is far superior to other systems I have used to track biological samples, including REDCap and Excel. The ability to monitor the process in real time is crucial for optimization.

About Lasso

Built by people who have lived inside research.

Lasso started in a neuroscience lab, built by people who were tired of wishing something like it existed. Our co-founder Dr. Alan Evans has spent decades on the data infrastructure behind studies that run across dozens of sites and thousands of participants, so we know exactly where the work slows down and what it takes to speed it up.

In a lab, grant money goes to the science first and the infrastructure beneath it gets what’s left. So we built what the studies needed, kept it running and kept it no frills because we had to. In between, we talked about what we would add with more time and resources: the speed, the interface, the polish.

We started Lasso to build what we had been dreaming about for years: a platform that wrangles vast amounts of data and is genuinely a pleasure to use.

We get technology working for science, not the other way around.
